I will soon be 5 years out and still stay away from potato soup. As much as I love it and have tweeked other fav recipes I can NOT come up with a good way to cook it. lol lol Potatos are just so full of carbs. But it prob would not hurt your pouch although be careful if you have a tendency to dump cause the carbs in the potatos will turn straight to sugar.

I don't have a problem with a cream of potato soup that I created myself and I'm almost 5 weeks out.
Cut up one large potato and coo****il done (falling apart). Drain good. Put in pot with milk and use potato masher to cream them. Put milk in enough so it won't be chunky. Simmer on the stove, add pepper & salt (if you are allowed), and a tablespoon of butter (lowfat). This is awesome to me because it is as close as I can get to a real potato soup. The batch makes enough for 4 serving which i also freeze.
Hope this helps but remember everyone's system is different on how it handles food now.
good luck! :)
